The Tiles

The floor of Beit Ha'ir is very special. It does not look like the
floor of the new houses in Tel-Aviv of our days. At the floor of
the building, which we are seeing now, there are about 50
different kinds of tiles in a variety of colors and shapes that
create a beautiful, special and authentic look.
When they renovated Beit Ha'ir in honor of the city's one
hundred anniversary celebrations, they gathered old tiles that
were taken from building waste across the city. The tiles are
original ones from the houses of Tel-Aviv residents who lived in
the city between the thirties and the fifties.
