In the house by the train track
No longer does anyone walk barefoot.
And by the big terrace,
No longer does anyone
Burn the leaves of the Poplar trees.
The gate is closed, the doors are locked,
The blinds are down during the day as well.
The sky is spread out and its eyes are still blue
But the house has ceased to breathe.
Once in the house by the train track
I saw a shining face
Because the empty house, by the train track,
Knew other days.
