Jerusalem is the Capital of Israel

This is a historic day. The announcement by the President of the United

States Donald Trump is an important landmark in the tales of Jerusalem.

Jerusalem (has been) our capital for three thousand years. For thousands of
years generations of Jews prayed, “For next year in Jerusalem”. About

seventy years ago we realized (our) prayer and yearnings, when we again

made Jerusalem the capital of the state of the Jews. And now comes
President Trump’s historic announcement recognizing these fundamental

facts. President Trump, we thank you for your just and bold decision to
recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and begin preparations to

opening the American embassy here. I call on more countries to follow the

footprints of the United States, and I’m telling you, President Trump’s
announcement aids the advancement of peace, because it grounds

everyone in reality. And the simple truth and reality is this: there will be

no peace without recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. To all our
neighbors I wish to make clear: we will continue to maintain the status-quo

in Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, we will continue to hold out our hand

in peace to the Palestinians and to all our neighbors. Mister President,
history and the Jewish people will always remember your bold decision on

            this day. Thank you.
