Little Monsters
It’s been a long time since a show like Little Monsters was seen on screen – direct, blunt and not
politically correct, about the relationships between parents and their little kids. The kids are the
monsters, and puppets play them this time. “Is today tomorrow yet?” “No, today is today and it’s
the middle of the night now, Dede.” “When is it tomorrow already?” “In the morning!” “These
texts, (people) don’t say that.” “Yes they do.” “Where?” “In private. And later (they) go out on
Facebook and post a picture where everything’s great.” When Roey and Shany Nitzan, the show’s
creators, were working on it, every time an unforgettable situation happened with one of their two
children, they immediately ran to the computer to write. “We went to the park, and our daughter
met some friend there and told her my dad does… this and that, I don’t remember what, was
showing off, and what does your father do? And then she said – my dad makes a lot of poop.”
“What did your little monsters think of Little Monsters?” “Our daughter walks around all day
saying – this show is about me.”
