Moving from Infinitive Form to Future Tense

‫ָל‬In Pa’al 2 we omit the infinitive form prefix , while maintaining

the sound pattern of the infinitive form

…A…(vowel = OU, EE, O)…
‫ָל‬Instead of the we use prefixes corresponding to the pronouns.

As an example let’s use the verb to live - ‫ ָלגּור‬. Follow the arrows to

find the prefixes used for each pronoun.

to live / to reside - ‫ָלגּור‬

‫ָלגּור ← ַ גּור‬

Pronoun  ‫ ִהיא ← ַת הּוא ← ַי א ַנ ְחנּו ← ַנ‬/‫ֲא ִני ← ַא א ָתה‬
Prefix
‫גּור‬+‫גּור ַנ‬+‫ַי‬ ‫גּור‬+‫גּור ַת‬+‫ַא‬
Prefix 
‫ַיגּור ַנגּור‬ ‫ַאגּור ַתגּור‬

Now we will also need to add the corresponding suffixes:

Pronoun  ‫ּו‬+‫ּו ֵהם ← ַי‬+‫א ֶתם ← ַת‬ ‫י‬+‫א ְת ← ַת‬
