“Mabat” for the Last Time
Forty minutes before (they) started broadcasting Mabat, (they) announced
to Channel One that this will be the last time. The government decided that
(we) should establish a new public channel because the old one isn’t good.
Mabat is Channel One’s news show, which has been broadcasting for forty
nine years. This was a surprise for Channel One’s employees, they thought
that this will only happen in six months. Geula Even, who works at
Channel One, was very emotional and couldn’t talk. Now many employees
go home and they don’t know what will happen to them.
