Mother and Prime Minister

“Madam Prime Minister, congratulations! It’s a girl!” Jacinda Ardern,

Prime Minister of New Zealand, became a mother for the first time this
morning at the age of thirty seven. Like everyone she wrote about it on

Facebook and Twitter, but not just to (her) family and close friends, but to

all of New Zealand’s (male and female) citizens. This is the second time in
history that a prime minister gives birth in office. The first was Benazir

Bhutto, Prime Minister of Pakistan in nineteen ninety. Jacinda realized that

this is an opportunity to show everyone how in two thousand eighteen
(you) can be both a mother and a career woman. Jacinda took a six week

vacation, but will continue to be updated in everything that’s going on in

New Zealand.
