Doron is Coming Back Home
In the past year, the rehabilitative ward became Doron’s home. Yesterday,
emotionally, she was able to say goodbye. Twenty year old Doron Ganon
was badly injured when a John Doe fell on her from high altitude at the
Forum club in Be’er Sheva. After a nine hour operation and a time when
she was anesthetized and on a ventilator, she started a long rehabilitation
process. At the same hospital, Tel Hashomer, where her brother Shay, who
was injured at Protective Edge, is also being rehabilitated. Doron is going
back to sleeping at home, but will continue to come regularly to Tel
Hashomer for the continued rehabilitation. The medical team, the nurses
and volunteers, about whom Doron doesn’t stop talking emotionally, had a
hard time saying goodbye. The friends she gathered on the way, too.
(They) tell that Doron is the one who usually maintains seriousness and an
optimistic attitude that infects her ward-mates, but yesterday, when
everyone was saying goodbye, (they) served her cake and sang to her, she
wasn’t able to keep a stoic face.
