The Nationality Bill
Drama in Israeli politics: a few days ago the Knesset passes the Nationality
Bill, which says that Israel is the country of the Jewish people. The
coalition is very happy, but the opposition really isn’t, they say that the bill
doesn’t accept the Druze, Bedouins and Israeli Arabs who live in Israel
and isn’t democratic. The minute the bill passes they exit the hall, being
very angry at the Prime Minister. Netanyahu is very happy and says there
isn’t a law more Zionist than this one.
