Exercise 7: In pairs, translate 8-10 lines from the dialogue into Hebrew row by
row, each translating his or her part. Translate the whole dialogue if you are up
for the challenge. Then act out the dialogue in front of your classmates.

1 Benny, what are you doing tomorrow? :‫דניאל‬
2 I’m going to look for an apartment. :‫בני‬

3 Really! Is this the first apartment you’re :‫דניאל‬

4 First apartment? What are you talking :‫בני‬
about? I’m looking for an apartment for

5 Four months?! What, it’s so hard to find :‫דניאל‬

6 Wow, it’s really hard. :‫בני‬

7 How many apartments have you seen? :‫דניאל‬

8 I’ve seen six apartments, but there were

problems in all the apartments. :‫בני‬

9 What [which] problems? :‫דניאל‬

In the first apartment there was a leak in :‫בני‬

10 the shower. In the second apartment there
were electricity problems. In the third

apartment there were mice in the

kitchen…

11 Mice in the kitchen?!

12 Yeah, mice.

13 Oh my… And in the fourth apartment?

14 In the fourth apartment there was a big
and pretty living room, a decent kitchen, a

new shower and a nice bedroom.

15 So what was the problem?

16 The housemates. The housemates in the
apartment were musicians. Every night at

1:00 at night, they play the saxophone.

17 Saxophone at 1:00 at night?! That really is
a problem. Ok, what about the fifth

apartment?

18 The fifth apartment was big and pretty,
with nice housemates, but it was on the

eighth floor.
