Even in Israel, (you) usually see blonde kids with blue eyes in
commercials. There are many commercials where the ideal is to be blonde
and skinny, and (those) who aren’t – aren’t good enough. Up until now in
Israel (they) often used a photo bank from abroad, now the Government
Advertising Agency decided that (they) have to create an Israeli photo
bank. They photographed children and people of all colors, and wanted
photos that would be as Israeli as possible. The government thinks that the
time has come to fight stereotypes, because Israelis can sell too.
