Young Children in Israel
In Israel today there are six hundred thousand children under [lit. up to] the age of three. A hundred
and forty thousand of them go to a daycare the government supervises, the other four hundred and
sixty thousand children go to private daycares. The problem is that in private daycares, as we know,
everything isn’t always okay. The parents, as well as many members of government, want to pass a
law that says the government has to supervise all daycares for children under the age of three in
Israel. This may sound ideal, but (you) have to remember that at the end it’s all a matter of money.
