Zika in South America
Lately there (have been) more and more babies in Latin America who were
hurt by a very dangerous virus called Zika. The virus can transfer from
person to person by a mosquito bite, and it hurts the brains of fetuses.
There’s no cure for this virus. Up until now it only (existed) in Latin
America, but the World Health Organization said that it’s dangerous in
North America as well. The countries in Latin America recommend two
options - either don’t come to Latin America, or don’t get pregnant. Zika
might also hurt the Olympics, that’s supposed to be this summer in Brazil.
