                           Israeli Music

It hasn’t been just musical taste or an artistic line for a long time, but a
great deal of politics and the racial ‘genie’ that came out, or was taken out
of the bottle. Recent data by Media Forest reveal who the most played
artists in Israel are, but here still, it’s all about perspective or, if you will,
the relay station. When it comes to Galey Zahal, Galgalaz and Kol Israel,
station that are, by the way, funded by public funds, the line is clear: in
first place, without competition, stands Arik Einstein. After him in second
and third place are Shlomo Artzi and Shalom Hanoch; still in the first ten
are Chava Alberstein, Yehudit Ravitz and Gidi Gov. A Mizrahi presence is
lacking. And when you get to the local radio stations on the other hand, the
soundtrack is entirely different: strong in first place, Eyal Golan, with a
significant lead on Shlomo Artzi, who gets an honorable spot here too,
after him are Moshe Peretz, Dudu Aharon and Omer Adam. On this list the
late Arik Einstein is only at the bottom, Chava Alberstein (and) Gidi Gov
are far behind. This data refers to the time between March two thousand
sixteen and March two thousand seventeen. So who are the most loved
artists in Israel? The answer to this question would probably change from
end to end, between station and station.
