Who’s at the Door?

A smart doorbell that films anyone who comes to the door and allows the
owner to talk to him up close or remotely, as well as track suspicious

activity. A pretty simple idea that just five years ago neither one of the

successful entrepreneurs in the world believed would work. In two
thousand thirteen Ring founder Jamie Siminoff came on the show Shark

Tank by the American ABC network. The company’s CEO asked the

entrepreneurs for seven hundred thousand dollars for ten percent of the
company. Much to his disappointment, none of the investors believed in

the product. But CEO Siminoff came out to be the big winner. Last night
we found out that his project was sold for a sum estimated to be a billion

dollars, to Amazon. The smart doorbell also warns its owner about any

movement near the door and allows (them) to communicate with people
approaching the door. This way, thieves caught on camera became viral

clips online, too. Along with the smart assistant Alexa, Amazon continues

to gallop towards the target it set for itself – our home, perhaps the last
fortress of privacy we thought we still had.
