When did you visit Rabbi Simeon’s tomb in Meron, the Western Wall or
the Cave of the Patriarchs last time? With a new app, Tikun, you don’t
have to leave (your) home. You can order a blessing from whichever holy
place you like, pay money, and get it to your phone in a few minutes,
along with a picture of the blessing Rabbi. The price for a blessing starts at
fifty four NIS and can reach almost two thousand, depending on who the
blessing Rabbi is. All the money goes to charity, but the question is
whether there are people who even in two thousand seventeen still want to
go and pray at the holy places themselves.
