Women’s Day
The whole world celebrates International Women’s Day this week. What is the state of women in
Israel in two thousand eighteen? It’s interesting that on Independence Day, Israel’s seventieth
birthday, only one woman gets the Israel Prize. The majority of the other winners are Ashkenazi
men. Since the year two thousands only eight women receive the Israel Prize, and since nineteen
fifty three, a hundred and five women out of six hundred and ninety six prizes. We hope that next
year things can be much better.
