Item #3 (Advanced Level)
A Big Little Car
Expanding and folding wheels, a car that can squeeze into a scooter’s
parking space. Forty years after the last Soosita was made in Israel, meet
the new folding electric car blue and white made. This prototype
demonstrates the innovative technology that enables shrinking the car’s
dimensions with a press of a button, from a width a meter and a half to just
one meter. In the past five years the stages of design, development and
styling have already been completed. You don’t need a helmet here, you
don’t get wet if it rains, you can turn the AC on in summer, too. When this
vision becomes a reality on the roads, the goal is to cancel out the
disadvantages of two-wheeled vehicles, but keep (their) most important
advantage – the option to find parking even in small spaces where no car
can fit. Thanks to the technological developments, cyber and autonomous
capabilities, the local industry is becoming more and more sought-after.
Just this week a few of the international car conglomerates – Hyundai,
Seat and Delphi – announced beginning activity in Israel.
