The Hasidic Synagogue

In the Baka neighborhood, on Yael Street, there is a Hasidic synagogue. The

synagogue was named after the Baal Shem Tov and is a very ancient

synagogue. In the past it was a large Arab house. A typical Arab house has

unique architecture.

What is special about an Arab house?
In Arab houses there is a double door with a window on each side. And also,
there are many decorations on the door and windows.
Next to the synagogue there is a very old house which is one of the first
houses in Baka.
During the holidays, when Jews from all over the world came to pray in

the synagogue, the residents of the old house had to get out of their home

and find another place to live, so that all the worshipers would have a

place to sleep!
