Aliyah During the War
Fourteen thousand Jews have immigrated to Israel since
the war began. They left comfortable lives in Europe or the
United States to come to Israel and build their homes here.
In Israel, a new and ambitious plan was also launched-to
assist two thousand Jewish doctors from around the world
to immigrate to Israel in the next five years. The Jews who
immigrated to Israel come from countries like the United
States, Brazil, India, France, and Mexico. They are leaving
their countries for an uncertain future. They are enlisting in
the army or starting to work in Israel, knowing that itis the
safest place for them
