Binyan Nif'al – Future Tense

‫ְל ִה‬In Binyan Nif’al we omit the infinitive form prefix , while

maintaining the sound pattern of the infinitive form:

...EE...A...E...

‫ְל ִה‬Instead of the we use prefixes corresponding to the pronouns. As an

example let’s use the verb:

to get in - ‫ְל ִה ָכ ֵנס‬

‫ְל ִה ָכ ֵנס ← ָכ ֵנס‬

Pronoun  ‫ ִהיא ← ִת הּוא ← ִי א ַנ ְחנּו ← ִנ‬/‫* ֲא ִני ← ֶא א ָתה‬
Prefix
‫ ָכ ֵנס‬+‫ ָכ ֵנס ִנ‬+‫ִי‬ ‫ ָכ ֵנס‬+‫ ָכ ֵנס ִת‬+‫ֶא‬
Prefix 
‫ִי ָכ ֵנס ִנ ָכ ֵנס‬ ‫ֶא ָכ ֵנס ִת ָכ ֵנס‬

As we add the corresponding suffixes, the ‘E’ sound disappears:

Pronoun  ‫ּו‬+‫ּו ֵהם ← ִי‬+‫א ֶתם ← ִת‬ ‫י‬+‫א ְת ← ִת‬
Prefix & Suffix
‫ּו‬+‫ ָכ ְנס‬+‫ִי‬ ‫ּו‬+‫ ָכ ְנס‬+‫ִת‬ ‫י‬+‫ ָכ ְנ ִס‬+‫ִת‬
Prefix & Suffix  ‫ִי ָכ ְנסּו‬ ‫ִת ָכ ְנסּו‬ ‫ִת ָכ ְנ ִסי‬

*Note that the music for ‫ ֲא ִני‬is "E..A..E..."
