obligations of a servant is √amr mafirūf wa’n-nahī munkar
(advocating the good and forbidding the evil). When both of these
matters are not carried out, then our dufiā√ will not be granted. In
the ḥadīth of the Prophet :
ف ِ ُ َ ْ ْ ِ ُ ُ َ ِ ِ َ ِ ْ ِ َ ْ ْ ِ ﱠ َ : و ﻟا ﺬ ي ـﻧ ﻔ ﺴ ﻲ ﺑ ﻴ ﺪ ﻩ َ ﻟ ﺘ ْ ﺄ ﻣ ﺮ ﱠ ن ﺑ ْ ﻟﺎ ﻤ ﻌ ﺮ و ﱢ َ ، ﻋ ِ ﻦ ﱠﻨﻟا ِ ﱯ َ َ َ ﻋ ﻦ ﺣ ﺬ ـﻳ ﻔ ﺔ َ ْ ُ ْ
ُ ْ ِ ً َ ِ َ َ َ ْ ْ َ ْ َ ْ ُ ﱠ ِ ْ ُ ْ ِ ْ ُ َ َ ُ َ ْ و َ ﻟ ـﺘ ـﻨ ﻬ ﻮ ﱠ ن ﻋ ِ ﻦ ْ ﻟا ﻤ ﻨ َ ﻜ ﺮ ، َأ و َ ﻟ ـﻴ ﻮ ﺷ َ ﻜ ﻦ ﷲا َأ ن ـﻳ ـﺒ ﻌ ﺚ ﻋ ﻠ ﻴ ُ ﻜ ﻢ ﻋ ﻘ ﺑﺎ ﺎ ﻣ ﻨ ﻪ ، ﱠُ ﰒ َ

ْ َ ﻟ ُ ﻜ ﻢ . بﺎ َ ُ ْ َ ﻼ ﻳ ﺴ ﺘ ﺠ َ َ ُ ْ ُ َ ْ ﺗ ﺪ ﻋ ﻮ ﻧ ﻪ ﻓ َ
From Ḥudhaifah , from the Prophet : “By Allāh in whose Hand
my soul is, you’d better enjoin what is right and forbid what is
wrong or Allāh will descend upon you all His severe punishment,
until you all supplicate Him but He will not answer your

supplication”.
5. A dufiā√ whose contents contain sinful deeds or cutting off the ties
of family relations. (Such as the aḥādīth pp. 87-89).
6. Being insincere when making dufiā√. The Messenger of Allāh
said:

At-Tirmidhī said: “This ḥadīth is ḥasan”.
