‘Truly! To Allh we belong and truly, to Him we shall return. O
Allh, bestow upon me a reward within this misfortune, and bestow
recompense to me with that which is better than it’. But rather Allh
nestows blessings within that misfortune, and recompenses it with
that which is better for ‘him’.﴿

﴾There is no Muslim who has been pricked by a thorn or more than
that, except that it is prescribed for ‘him’ and by that means one
degree (in ranking) is made for ‘him’ and one error is removed
from ‘him’.﴿
596
It may be that someone possesses a noble status in the eyes
of Allh, however ‘he’ does not possess a deed that can be
conducive to that status. Then Allh tries ‘him’ with something that
‘he’ does not like, until ‘he’ deserves to receive that status and ‘he’
achieves it.
