Page 2 - getting Lacrosse across
P. 2
The sport I have chosen is “Lacrosse”, a very uncommon sport amongst households
but with a rather interesting history in my opinion based on web research I have
conducted. Modern day Lacrosse rules pits two teams of 10 players per team with a
goal of scoring in goalpost by using a Lacrosse stick. Only goalies are allowed to
touch the ball using their hands, the team to score the most points is deemed the
winner.

A deeper dive into the History of Lacrosse, no one can pinpoint the exact start or
origin of the sport or close resemblance of it. How-ever the late 1600’s marks written
proof of a game very much like that of modern-day Lacrosse called “Iroquois”, it was
played by Native American Indians on the land now known in present day as North
America. The rules as well as terrain very much differed from Lacrosse, however one
may argue that the equipment used to play was the same.
