The Opening Ceremony kicked off in the ship’s Vista Lounge on
Monday morning. While photos of each of the 22 countries rep-
resented at the conference were projected, delegates stood to
be greeted. We also recognized the many countries that hosted
delegates, honoring the spirit of our exchange program.

Dale Yonker, the US representative on the World Board, wel-
comed the 273 participants. Matti Kuykendall shared some fun
facts and photos of Alaska. After a presentation by Dr. Shin-Shin
Chen of Taiwan on the status of 4-H programs in Asia, there was
time for reconnecting with old friends and enjoying champagne
provided by Cruise Specialists.
