SW: Your CD release party was held at the Johnny Cash Storyteller’s Museum and Farm in Tennessee.
What a perfect venue to debut this album.
GW: I played there a couple years ago, opening their concert series. I have a great relationship
with the owners. It feels really good to be somewhat endorsed by them. They embrace and love
what I do. It’s such a unique situation and opportunity, why would I want to do it anywhere else?
What better place than the Johnny Cash Farm? It was a perfect day where nothing went wrong. I
had lots of family and friends come in to see the show and fans from Florida, Indiana, and all over.
It was so nice to see them all and have a chance to visit, too. Leona Williams came and sang
‘Jackson” with me and played some of her big hits as well. My band and I did all the songs from
the new album, took a break, then came back and just shot from the hip and played what we
wanted. We could have played for another couple hours easy, but we had to shut if off somewhere
(laughs).
SW: In addition to the CD format, you have made your album available on a flash drive, complete
with artwork. I believe you are one of the first to offer that. Are you receiving good response to that?
GW: Yeah, some people just look at it dumbfounded, you know? But, once they understand what
it is, they love it! People that have newer cars, pontoon boats, golf carts and such that have the
USB port like having it. You gotta keep up with the times best you can…but don’t tell everybody our
secret!
SW: What is the most important message you want listeners to get from this album?
