I’LL BE HONEST…
when I was given this assignment, I had no idea what
to expect. TECH N9NE? Yeah, I had heard of the artist,
but I never really listened to his music. So here I go
again -- doing fast research on this performer, putting
in 24 hours on YouTube getting acquainted with his
music.
Aaron Dontez Yates, better known by his stage
name Tech N9ne, acquired the moniker that
originated from the TEC-9 semi-automatic handgun.
The name was bestowed upon him by another rap
artist, Black Walt, due to Tech N9ne’s fast-
rhyming choppy rap style. It’s mesmerizing to hear
him live and sounding really close to his well-
produced albums. After witnessing him in action, in
my opinion, he is definitely one of the most prolific
rap artists in his level of artistic talent…and I love it!
