Mr. N9ne is from Kansas City, Missouri and has been in the music business
since 1991, starting out while he was a member of a group called Black Mafia.
So, this man has at least 28 years under his music belt and has been in the
game for a long time. I was told at the concert that he has sold over two million
albums and has had his music featured in film, television, and video games.
Those are huge accomplishments.
I also read that hE is influenced by old school hip hop. Specifically, N.W.A.,
Public Enemy, Boogie Down Productions, Eric B & Rakim, Schoolly D, and Just-
Ice.
He’s also interested in other genres of music. He counts as his influences The
Doors and Jim Morrison, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, AC/DC, Metallica, Floetry,
Outkast, CeeLo Green, and Gnarls Barkley. He has stated generally, "I love
beautiful music -- beautiful music no matter what type.” I love this guy! A true
artist after my own heart.
