Do you want to know how good Rebecca Downes is? Well, not so long
ago I went with a friend to a stripped-back acoustic gig that she played
about 80 miles from where I live. The car, unfortunately, showed no

interest in going all that way and gave up the ghost after 50 miles --
leaving us stranded and facing the prospect of missing the gig. If that
damned car could've taken on human form it would've stood there with

its hands on its hips, glaring at me and saying, “I ain't going any further
and you can't make me.”
