Working in radio, you meet a lot of bands, but few
become friends. Kaleido is the kind of band that is making
friends every time they play. This time at Sunshine
Studios Live in Colorado Springs was no different. This
tour stop had the band 3/4 of the way through a 44-day,
33-show tour in direct support of the comic book/live-
action band September Mourning. Every time Kaleido has
rocked Colorado Springs, they've played at Sunshine
Studios Live. For this appearance, they were one of the
first bands to play in a much larger venue as Sunshine
Studios Live had recently expanded, as they moved the
actual recording studio to the other side of the building
to make way for a bigger area in front of their large rock-
ready stage. And it was the perfect setting for a couple of
larger-than-life rock bands.
Kaleido has an impressive library of music, having
released 2 EPs and a full-length album. But for the show
tonight, they were only going to play a handful of the
newer songs that have been released, along with brand-
new songs, including their latest single "My Enemy." The
new tracks are definitely leaning in a heavier direction,
which translates into one hell of a show. They also reflect
more of the writing and natural organic feelings from the
band's frontwoman and songwriter Christina Chriss.
Working with producer Johnny K (3 Doors Down, Pop Evil,
Disturbed, Megadeth), Chriss and the band are shooting
for an early 2019 new music release.
