I know people that who follow my articles realize that “Rock is not dead” is a favorite mantra of
mine -- and I seek to prove it quite often in my multiple screenings and postings of new music.
When I visited Griffin’s Facebook page…what did I find? It was none other than the quote “Rock
is not dead”! Griffin is a proponent of bringing back rock to the younger generation. We both feel
that rock has become underground with our youth. I have said this very thing in conversation
numerous times with other industry folks. In many ways, while speaking with Griffin, I felt I was
talking with a younger version of myself. It was refreshing to speak with a teenager, who on
learning that I had gone to a Paul McCartney and Wings concert in Chicago, actually thought it
was cool! I’m redeemed! Rock is not dead!
Of course, in case you haven’t figured it out, I am the first boy of Midwest origins referenced in
this article -- thank you, Mom, for exposing me to The Beatles at such an early age and helping
develop my love of music! And although I do not possess the prestigious talent of Griffin Tucker,
we were both impacted and affected by the music of The Beatles in our youth, which shaped our
musical tastes and paths, albeit, in different spaces and times. The fact that I am able to meet
the likes of him, I consider myself to be very lucky. His talent is obvious, and his future is wide
open.
May the long and winding road of life lead to the door of success for Griffin Tucker – and may he
kick that door down because the real rock revolution is on!
