MH: Which bands or artists have
inspired you to make music as a band
and as individuals?
SM: Some of the musical acts that gave us
inspiration are as follows: Nine Inch Nails,
TOOL, Faith No More, Type O Negative,
The Deftones, Radiohead, Motley Crue,
W.A.S.P., The Misfits, Ozzy Osbourne, DIO,
Nirvana, and Avatar.
MH: I’ve been to quite a few of your
shows and every time I buy my ticket, I
know I’m going to be entertained. I see
Sin Machine as being artsy, somewhat
dark, a bit on the heavy melodic side, and
at times, spicy. Maybe along the lines of
the band Mindless Self Indulgence and
maybe a hint of Mötley Crüe? How would
you describe the band and your music?
SM: We are you glad you enjoy our
performances. We have always been fans
of visual art, movies, and music. We like to
provide some interesting visuals as well as
loud music.
MH: What is your creative process like?
Writing lyrics? Music arranging? Who
comes up with what?
SM: Songs begin as a string of code,
handed down from our Goddess. Grimm
converts parts of the code into lyrical
content and vocal melodies. Dannibal,
Diablo, and Bela convert other parts of the
code into musical sounds that are then
blended with what Grimm has come forth
with. These are put together with all of us in
a room until we feel we have made a valid
interpretation.
MH: What albums/EPs has Sin Machine
released?
SM: We have our self-titled album, which
was released in 2006.
MH: What’s more important to you…the
music or the art behind the band? And is
there a balance between the two?
