SM: The music and visuals are as of the
same importance in our collective and one
cannot be taken apart from one another.
MH: Let’s talk about the band's grim but
gripping video ‘Formaldehyde Kiss.’
What's the backstory of the video?
SM: This song and video were inspired by
true events. We made a tongue in cheek
version of the cheery subjects involved.
We all came up with the story and co-
directed it with Mathew Van Hoesen.
MH: Like any other band, I’m sure there
are some juicy stories in the Sin
Machine closet. If you would share an
experience or two without upsetting our
Editor-in-Chief. Let's keep it PG13/R.
SM: For one show, we ran out of sacrificial
human liquids and had to resort to corn
syrup and food coloring. This resulted in
the venue having some damaged
speakers. So, we do not use syrup
anymore.
MH: What are your favorite and least
favorite shows/venues?
SM: Our favorite show and venue was at
the Rialto Theater. It has been a
frequented establishment in our lives, and
it was an honor to play there. The worst?
University of Arizona Mall (Tucson, AZ).
MH: What's next for Sin Machine?
SM: We are in the process of writing new
music, which is being recorded and will be
released in some form in the near future.
Music videos will likely follow.
MH: Thank you, Sin Machine. Any last
words for our readers? What is one
message you would give to your fans?
SM: Please join us! Help us spread the
word of the Machine Goddess and receive
enlightenment.
