Sevendust were first to light the night up. Hitting the stage like a hammer, Sevendust
ripped through “Face to Face,” "Denial,” and “Crucified,” without taking a breath. Lead
singer Lajon Witherspoon slowed things down a bit, and we learned the guys almost
didn’t make the show. The band had decided to do a quick 30-minute set at the Sick
New World Festival the night before in Las Vegas. Three songs in, a massive power
outage struck, shutting down the festival. The guys had to grab a red eye flight out in
order to make it to Chattanooga in time. Ahead of their 14 studio album, “Truth Killer,”
th
set to release this July, they treated us to the first single from the album “Fence,” as
they got things back rolling. Lajon, drummer Morgan Rose, guitarists John Connolly
and Clint Lowery, along with bassist Vince Hornsby, then tore through the rest of the
set flawlessly before ending their set with the appropriately titled “Thank You.”
