Lina and The Lions are a Sheffield
based band like no other. They create
unashamedly infectious pop that elicits a
yearning for the good old days of the
1980s. But just because I have
described their music as “infectious
pop”, don't be fooled into thinking that
their musicianship is anything less than
top class. It's only because they are so
good at what they do that they make it
look easy. The band originated in 2020,
and it was during the pandemic, with no
gigs to play, that they set about making
the album “Second Nature”. As Lina
explains, “We wanted every song to be
someone's personal anthem for hope,
fearlessness, and self-belief”, and I'm
sure that's how their fans see it. Lina is
not only an accomplished musician,
playing bass and keys, but is also a
significantly good lyricist.
