Finally, it was UB40’s turn to get on
stage. The thing I didn’t like is that
they started late. 10:00 p.m. is my
bedtime and they finished their show
at nearly midnight. I was dead tired
in the end, but the show was well
worth it.
There was a lot of anticipation and
huge clapping as UB40 finally came
onto the stage. They warmly greeted
the fans, and the band performed the
song that everyone was eager to
hear. Some of the people in the front
seats had a wonderful time dancing
in the aisles. A request from security
asked them to return to their seats.
Matt Doyle was surprised and
sounded disappointed at the
security, but even still, encouraged
the audience to continue dancing
wherever they pleased. The
rhythmic beats of this iconic band
moved everyone, and the front
quickly became a dance floor.
The performance of “Red Red Wine”
by UB40 was for sure the high
point…especially for me. Everyone
was singing along! It was one of
those magical concert experiences
where the vibe of the music brought
strangers together.
UB40 proved why they are legends
in the reggae genre. Their stage
