Gary West's newest song release, "I Don't Do It For The Money (I Do It For The
Love Of Cash)" was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, at Phatt Marve's
Productions. The musicians on this song are made up of legendary Nashville
musicians who have played with dozens of country music greats and worked
decades on the world-famous Grand Ole Opry. As I mentioned, Gary himself
worked on the Grand Ole Opry as a drummer for Del Reeves and then Little Jimmy
Dickens for 12 years. J.D. Hatfield (harmonica) worked with Del Reeves for over
25 years on the Grand Ole Opry. Gregg Hutchins (drums) played with Billy Walker
and then Jean Shepard for 25 years on the Grand Ole Opry. Glen Dickerson
(guitar) also worked with Jean Shepard for 25 years on the Grand Ole Opry and
was also an "on call" staff guitarist. Rex Clem (bass) worked with Bobby Helms
(“Jingle Bell Rock”) and Tommy Cash. These first-rate musicians also perform with
Gary on his live show dates. Gary says, "These guys have amazing carriers and
stories and are among the finest session musicians in the world. I am honored to
               call them my friends."

"I Don't Do It For The Money" pays homage to Johnny Cash and Gary’s love for
the Man in Black's music. Gary explains, "This is the song behind the show and
addresses the frequently asked question of, ‘Why do you play all this Johnny Cash
               music?’”

I have interviewed Gary on my radio show many times and admire his
professionalism and reverence for traditional country music. He and his band put
on an unforgettable show and I commend the entire group for their on-stage attire
-- always a suit and tie. Gary's shows may have that old school approach, but the
music that comes from that stage has the energy and motivation of a freight train!
He is an incredible singer and entertainer and the music top notch. His many
devoted fans are always pleased to meet with him after shows and he stays until
he has a chance to talk to them all.
