One of the standout cuts on this project is the solid Honky Tonk
shuffle, "Migraine Heartache," complete with this signature twin
Texas fiddles. Tim says, "Even sad lyrics sound happy when it's
a country shuffle. A migraine headache is a painful thing, but a
migraine heartache is in a category all by itself."
"Blue Umbrella,” written by the late John Prine, is an exquisite
song about a man wandering around in the proverbial rain hoping
to find more sunshine in the relationship with his wife. The rain
sounds and the instrumentation on this track are captivating.
"Throwback Man" is one I relate closely on. Tim explains, "The
world evolves, but sometimes people don't. I tolerate technology
but I don't embrace it like I should. I stand for the National Anthem
and I go to church on Sunday. I believe I am the quintessential
throwback man, and I'm ok with that!"
"She Treats Me Like A Dog" is proof once again that it's good to
be man's best friend. "I helped write this song with Ethan Phillips
and Caleb Wilkie, two young writers from Georgia. My wife can
be heard at the end of the recording. It's my favorite part of the
record. It makes me smile every time I hear her. I really am a lucky
mutt."
"Come On If You're Comin'" is just a fun and energetic song.
"Monkey Around,” a Delbert McClinton song and "Shortnin' Bread
Rock" will not keep you in your seat for long, with the latter
complete with a horn section along with Tim's awesome piano
riffs.
