“Moon River”
This was a special treat for me covering this interview with Stella Katherine Cole. I’ve
been wanting to do an interview since I first heard her rendition of “La Vie En Rose.”
Stella Katherine Cole started posting videos on TikTok, mostly singing jazz standards
and tunes from the Great American Songbook. Since then, her following has grown
to nearly 60K. After spending time in a recording studio with some incredible local
musicians, she now has music available on Spotify, Apple, YouTube, and Pandora.
A singer, actor, college student, and jazz enthusiast, Stella draws inspiration from
Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, and Julie London, as well as newer
artists like Diana Krall, Norah Jones, and Liana La Havas. Stella is currently a senior
at Northwestern University, double majoring in Theater and International Studies and
minoring in German. She is so looking forward to performing live again in 2021 in
jazz clubs and in theaters alike.
