DA (con’t): The band started to take off and we would tour a lot and were always on the road. And
then we would make a record. The last one was a studio record called ‘Burn It Down.’ And we were
touring, and touring, and touring…and that’s why I think John Corabi and Marco Mendoza wanted
to kinda step back a little bit and enjoy some free time. And The Dead Daisies decided, ‘Hey! Let’s
keep going. Those guys can come back later if they want,’ you know? But in the meantime, we got
Glen and Deen and David and me.
MH: I see Marco at Winter NAMM just about every year and I always go say hi to him. He’s a
really nice guy. Really humble and always makes time to talk. And the last time I got to talk
to John Corabi was when he was with Motley back in 1994. That was a while ago. John was
so cool. The Motley guys were wild and outgoing, to say the least. And John was mostly
reserved and stayed in the back most of the time.
DA: Yeah, that’s how he is, you know? He’s just a quiet guy. He’s a great frontman and a really
great emcee. He really makes people at the live shows feel part of the experience. We were sorry
to see him go, but you know, like I said, with The Dead Daisies, anything is possible. Maybe we’ll
go on tour together and have John open up the show if it’s an acoustic set and join The Daisies for
a song or two. That would be pretty cool!
MH: Let’s talk a little about yourself now. I’m sure you’re excited about being a part of The
Dead Daisies?
DA: Oh, yeah! I’ve been around a lot over the years and played with
a lot of different people. I’ve got to the point…I’ve been touring with
Whitesnake up until 2014, and I basically need some free time to get
my family together. I wanted to spend time with my son, and so I
stepped away from Whitesnake at that time. Took a couple years off
for a year and a half. And then Glen called me to go do a tour with
him. I’ve been friends with Glen for years, and he asked me to do a
tour with him and kinda got me back on the road little bit. And during
tour with him. I’ve been friends with Glen for years, and he
that time The Dead Daisies said, ‘We’re gonna record a record. We
asked me to do a tour with him and kinda got me back on
love for you to write it with us and play guitar.’ So, that’s how that
the road little bit. And during that time The Dead Daisies
happened.
said, ‘We’re gonna record a record. We love for you to write
it with us and play guitar.’ So, that’s how that happened.
MH: What year did you start playing with
The Dead Daisies?
DA: I started in January of 2016. We put in a
lot of work…live records, EPs, studio
records. It’s been really good. Like I said, this
new record…I’m very excited about it.
MH: I often ask this question to the artists
that I interview. Each answer I receive is
different. With our current situation with
the pandemic and the craziness of 2020,
how has this impacted the band, music,
and your personal life? What keeps The
Dead Daisies moving forward?
