Donny also touched on all areas of his career in his
solo spots. He performed his hit song "Puppy Love,"
which was a smash for him back in 1972 when he
wasn't even 13-years old. He hit just the right touch
on the song -- a mix of sincerity, affection, pride,
peppered with lots of tongue-in-cheek humor.

Donny also shared his theater career with an
impressive "Close Every Door" from "Joseph and the
Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." As he provided the
singing voice for Captain Li Shang in "Mulan," we got
a masculine "I'll Make a Man Out of You." And with
the jazzy "Could She Be Mine," he showed off the
hoofing skills that earned him a "Dancing with the
Stars" trophy in 2009. Speaking of "DWTS," in true
brotherly-irking fashion, he bombarded his female
counterpart with wisecracks at Marie's expense,
homing in on the fact that she came in third on an
earlier DWTS season: "She would have won, if they
gave out a trophy for fainting," he slammed. Ouch.
But in spite of all the quips and jabs, the love shines
          through between these siblings/stars.

A really high (and poignant) point came when Donny
paid tribute to Andy Williams, who put the family on
the path to fame when they began working on his '60s
variety show. Donny sang a very sweet tribute to the
legendary crooner, "Moon River." Their time on Andy
Williams’ show was the Osmond family’s break into
the business of music…and was the catalyst for them
enjoying a rich musical career that has spanned 5
          decades.

          The siblings' well-known effervescent personalities
radiated as they chatted with the audience and ribbed
one another with hilarious faux bickering and witty
banter. At one point, both brother and sister ventured
into the audience, singing and sharing hugs and high-
fives with concert-goers. Amazingly, Donny stood
right in front of me while Marie took up her position
on the other side of the amphitheater. In the end, my
takeaway was that Donny & Marie’s sparkly feel-good
spectacular is meant as a love letter to their fans,
which is served up as a showcase for two of the
          most charismatic, charming, loving, and
          respected personalities in entertainment history.
