TB: You have a part in the Japanese video game ‘Memento Mori,’ singing Cerberus’ character
theme song. How did that come about?

BJ: I was told by a colleague that the developers of the game were searching for talent to sing their
new unreleased character’s theme song. I decided to audition, although at first, I was confident I
wouldn’t be chosen. I had no voice-acting experience and had never done anything in the gaming
industry before. I was ecstatic when I heard that I was casted for the role. It was overall such a unique
and extremely fun experience -- especially as a singer-songwriter where I’m always myself in my
performances. It was so cool to transform into a fictional character.

TB: You play several instruments. Which is your favorite and why?

BJ: As a songwriter, the piano has always been my main instrument. It's a beautifully romantic
instrument that really lets you paint a dream world. However, the flute might be my favorite instrument
to play overall. I feel the most experimentally creative with it and comfortable with so many playing
styles that add a unique touch to my music.

TB: Last year you had a headline show at the iconic Viper Room. What was that like for you?

BJ: Playing a headline show at such a historically significant venue has been a fun milestone for me so
far. Everyone involved in this show was fantastic, from the venue staff to the engineers, and my
personal stage experience was magical. There’s something that makes the blood rush differently when
standing behind those giant velvet red curtains seconds before your set begins. There’s a distant noisy
silence that you sit in during your own stillness, then the curtains slide open and it’s like you’ve come
up from underwater with a huge breath that expands your body for what feels like the first time in
        forever.

TB: You became a certified sound healer in late 2023. How do you think this will help you grow
        as an artist?

BJ: Sound healing feels like the natural bridge between two passions of mine: music and wellness.
Tending to our spiritual health allows us to be more creative, open, and authentic, and being able to
provide that for others reinvigorates me in return. I also plan on incorporating more sound healing
instruments, like quartz crystal singing bowls, in my music, too!

TB: What can your fans look forward to during the rest of 2024?

BJ: In 2024, I’ll be releasing new music. I have a new single coming in the next couple months and
maybe even an album this year, too! I’ll be playing more live shows in Los Angeles and have bookings
in the works. I’m also close to finishing a DIY music video for 'Marble Queen’ that I had so much fun
creating. You can keep up with announcements on my website or social media!
