Interview by Tim Board • www.ionindiemagazine.com/eye-on-jamz-radio

Bianca Jazmine is a singer/songwriter “with an insightful message to advocate for peace, empathy,

and unity,” as she states in her bio. She has released one EP, “Hear Our Voices” in 2019, and several
singles. Residing in Los Angles, originally from South Florida, this talented Cuban American has

appeared on the Kelly Clarkson show, lent her voice is to a Japanese video game, performed at a
headline show at The Viper Room, and is a certified sound healer. Bianca was kind enough to answer
a few questions about all these and more.

Tim Board: How did you get started in music?

Bianca Jazmine: My interest in music began at a very young age, always leaning on singing and

writing as a way to express all the big emotions I was feeling in such a tiny body. Being sensitive has

always been both a blessing and a curse. It’s allowed me to really absorb the world around me in

such a detailed and vivid way, but also led to extreme overwhelm while growing up – until I discovered

how to craft the intensity of the world around me into art. I learned a slew of instruments along the

way and wrote my own songs. As a teenager, I began recording demos and performing live shows,
         and now I’m here!

TB: Your bio states you ‘hope to encourage everyone to embrace their individuality and use

our unique personalities and ideas to help ourselves and others and bring the world together.’

How do you feel your music contributes to this?

BJ: My lyrics are an important part of my
         songwriting process. The messages I
         communicate often surround personal growth
and big-picture perspective. If I can inspire
anyone to allow their truest self to show, or
try something they didn’t believe they could
do, I know I’ve done my job. One of the most
gratifying moments of being an artist is when
someone tells you your art has moved them
or made them feel understood. I observe the
impact the most at my live shows, where I’ve
had the honor of listeners approaching and
connecting with me after my set. My overall
goal is to heal others through music, so
seeing that impact happen from my songs is
         exactly what keeps me going.
