BWG (Michael): I met a portion of the band while I was at a show at a local pub and I guess it was Rick and Bill
who came up to me after. I think Rick was running the sound for them in the whole show and they asked if I was
interested in doing a project with them. I love singing, so it didn't take long for me to say ‘Yes!” It was about a
week later I audition for these guys and it was like I was there from the beginning. I loved everything they’ve
been doing, so as for my background, I've been singing since I had to get my diapers changed.
SS: And they just thought you were crying, but you were actually singing, right?
BWG (Michael): Really! And writing too at 3-years-old, you know. [laughter] They have no idea. They still don't
know if I need my diapers changed or if I'm actually singing a song. Yeah, I think it gets better and better and
the music keeps getting better and better, I just love to write and with these guys, it's makes it so much easier
because they're all just down-to-earth people and I love them to the death.
SS: How about you, Jj?
BWG (Jj): I’m a self-taught drummer. I've been playing about 30 years, I guess, in and out of cover bands. Rick
is also a co-writer in some of the projects we've done. I’ve been in and out of a couple of bands with him. We
did some original stuff back in the 90s, when I met Andy. We actually opened up for Andy one time and we've
been playing together ever since. Then one day I started writing some stuff and Rick says, ‘You want to do
some stuff in the studio?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, sure. Great!’ He was running sound for Michael one night and he
said, ‘You’ve got to check this guy out! He's a good singer.’ We needed somebody for our project. So, we
checked him out, talked to Mike a little bit, and he was definitely interested. We went into the studio and did
some stuff and after that, we put a video together. ‘Walk Away’ is the name of the video. It exploded and after
that, we were like…we would be able to form a band now. [laughter] Like they said, it was just a project you
know. It got a lot like over a million views on YouTube already. (https://youtu.be/-2Gh1EUhwUw)
SS: You mentioned that you were a self-taught drummer. How old were you when you start learning the
drums?
BWG (Jj): Actually, I was about 15-years-old.
SS: And to think your parents actually let you do that? Did you have a basement or a garage?
BWG (Jj): I had a garage.
SS: There you go. [laughs]
BWG (Jj): I started getting like some more professional around 28 years. Then after that, you know, I’d kind of
messed around a little. Andy was saying that the music changed around the 2000’s. Our sound was hard rock
and we didn’t want to change our style. After that, we kind of faded out a couple of years.
SS: I have heard that story so many times, I hope the readers don't get me wrong…I like the grunge sound.
But it really did take a lot of people out of business, didn’t it?
BWG: Yes, it did.
SS: The album is called “Circle Of Sin.” What was the process?
