BWG: It's been a lot of writing behind the scenes, getting back and forth to each other, getting the thought
process together, and then going into the studio and recording. You know…do the next round and back to
writing. You know, it just keeps going on and recycles itself.
SS: Does everybody write and what’s the process with that?
BWG (Michael): Right now, it has mostly been Rick and Joe and they come up with some stuff. They let us listen
to it, obviously, and we all have an input. But it usually starts with J.J. and Rick and it's working out really well,
as far as I'm concerned. But there's always that room for, ‘What do you think about this…what do you think
about that?’ And then when Andy steps in with that 2nd guitar and just him filling in that space with his own
whips and things like that, it was perfect. We all have egos, but we all check them a little bit and keep them to
ourselves so that we all can work together because that's usually the biggest thing in a band. I'm sure you're not
new to this -- you’ve probably heard of this, you know? But this has really been a good project because it’s really
about how can we make this better without fear of stepping on toes.
SS: You guys you guys are seasoned professionals and (egos) that's one of the things I personally heard so
many times about the downfall of young bands. It’s not just the personalities, but they attract different
followers…and those followers they say, ‘Well, you know, you should be the one who's the head of the band,
you should be the one that gets all the attention.’ Right? And, family and friends tell you you're the one that
should be up front.
BWG (Michael): Well, nobody has told me that except for my band. [laughter] All I hear is, ‘Well I can't sing that
backup.’ But they're going to have to learn.
SS: You guys expect the album to be totally complete when?
BWG: It kind of looks like all we’ve got to do now is mix down and master the rest of the songs. We're probably
going to shoot for some time in late October.
SS: Are there any more singles that are going to come out first?
BWG: No, I think our last
single just came out, which
is ‘Concrete Angels.’ That's
the last song…and then it's
off to shoot a promotional
video with Dave Mobley.
SS: David is the man.
BWG: He told us a lot about
you too.
SS: Really? I hope it was
good!
BWG: Oh my God, it was!
