Rockin’ out of Western New York is the band DoDriver! Senior
Photojournalist for ION Indie Magazine Lee Hoffman caught up with this
dynamic group that is making a name for themselves in global
proportions – serving up masterful music to the masses in the U.S. and
Europe, where they have performed in such countries as Switzerland,
Netherlands, Germany, Austria, and Croatia. They describe their brand
of music as “rooted in rock with a definite riff-oriented style that is
mixed with pop elements.” The sum of these parts is a sound with a
commercial appeal that lingers and resounds with the listener long
after the last notes have left these talented musician’s instruments.
They have shared stages with many well-known acts, but perhaps the
most recognizable “name” would be none other than rock icons KISS!
This opportunity presented in 2010 due to a contest sponsored by
Guitar Center. DoDriver received the nod after a 2-month-long voting
process which saw 5 bands vying for the honors. KISS ultimately made
the winning selection…and DoDriver it was! Other groups that DoDriver
has appeared with include Staind, Soul Asylum, Queensryche, Quiet
Riot, and Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience, to name a few.
The group has four previous releases; “Sinus,” “Man,” “Neon,” and
“DoDriver.” From their self-titled CD, the songs “Circus” and “Once in a
While” have received radio airplay in West Virginia through the
Undiscovered Radio Network on 106.3 WAMX, 107.5 WEGW, and 103.1
WHBR, and in Arkansas on 95.3 KERX. The songs "Read it Wrong," "Life
Changes Everything," and "Dozer" currently receive airplay on multiple
internet radio stations. The group’s CD “Life Changes Everything”
showcases even more of the band’s head-bobbing rhythms, strong
vocal lines and memorable songs.
DoDriver's latest release, "Hi Test," is available now! It features 12 new
tracks of hard-hitting rock songs that will burrow into your brain and
take up residence there for months!
DoDriver is Jody Velletta (vocals), Mike Trabucco (guitar), Mark Conlon
(drums), and Chris Elardo (bass).
