Closing out the final night of Monument Indie Fest was Day 2 headliners, The Unlikely Candidates,
an indie rock band from Fort Worth, Texas. As far as headliners go, I can’t say enough about The
Unlikely Candidates’ live performance. Kyle, the lead singer, is an animated and physical
performer who throws himself around the stage while showcasing his unique tone that rivals the
best. Each song that they played was instantly your favorite – that is, until they played the next. I
am not sure how these guys are not filling arenas by now, but that is a definite possibility in the
near future.

As a side note, both Wildermiss and The Unlikely Candidates graciously did a pre-festival on-air
interview on ION Indie Magazine’s syndicated radio show, Eye On Jamz with host Tim Board –
which provided a glimpse into the level of talent that Monument Indie Fest was bringing to the
Colorado crowds seeking to immerse themselves in some magnificent music on Labor Day
weekend. Monument Indie Fest was well-represented by ION Indie Magazine. Besides my
coverage of the festival as a staff photojournalist, Tim Board, host of our ION-powered syndicated
radio show, Eye On Jamz, was also in attendance to show support for the event and take in the
exceptional music.
