Throughout the evening, Letitia Frye emceed and
auctioned off priceless rock and roll items. She
introduced each special guest as they took the
stage, providing hilarious running commentary as
she dazzled in her sparkling dress.
Next up were the Solid Rock Dancers & Musicians
and The Bucket Brigade. They were followed by a
moving selection by the Cesar Chavez High School
Drumline (Laveen, AZ), who lined up around the
theatre, with some members performing directly in
front of me.
The Horizon High School Choir (Scottsdale, AZ)
and the Rocky Mountain Ballet Theatre (Missoula,
MT) also strutted their stuff, with all these talented
young people receiving an A+ from me!
This year’s “Proof is in the Pudding” (Cooper’s own
version of American Idol) winner was soloist is
Japhar Pullen.
After his performance, he came up and sat in front
of me, which provided me the opportunity to chat
with him. Winning band for “Proof is in the Pudding”
was Arizona’s “The Joeys,” who also stepped up to
the stage to demonstrate their chops. The First
Serving was followed by more live auctions.
