Then the Metal God himself appeared…Mr.
Rob Halford, bringing his voracious vocals,
bringing the whole theatre to their feet. A
total Judas Priest moment reigned supreme
over the room! And the legendary lineup
continued…Joe Bonamassa was up next
and performed in his own trademark style. I
haven’t heard such great blues guitar
playing since BB King…it was both
memorable and Inspiring! Meanwhile,
Letitia Frye continued to auction in-between
sets and kept the quips coming, keeping the
audience entertained.
The Third Serving, which capped off the
evening, included the original 1969 Alice
Cooper Group (minus Glen Buxton, RIP).
They performed the longest set, delivering
30 minutes of classic Alice Cooper hits. It
was such a treat to witness Alice Cooper,
Michael Bruce (rhythm guitar, keyboards),
Dennis Dunaway (bass guitar), and Neal
Smith (drums).
Topping things off and filling in for Buxton
were none other than Johnny Depp (guitars)
and Joe Bonamassa (guitars). Nothing
short of amazing!
The show ended by having all the artists on
stage and once again, Sister Sledge
delivered a rousing reprise of their beloved
anthemic song “We Are Family.” The whole
audience was up on their feet and singing
along. By then, I, too, was up on stage,
joining in the celebratory finale. In the end,
Johnny Depp came up to me and shook my
hand!
I’m really looking forward to next year’s
Alice Cooper’s Christmas Pudding. This is
really something special and not to be
missed – not only for the superior
entertainment, but to support a most worthy
cause.
