Elastic compression
• Se = (Qb + Qf) * (L / AEp)
• = 0.33 to 0.67 according to stress distribution along pile’s shaft
Settlement due to Bearing Load Qb
• Spp = (Cb Qb) / (d. q)
• q= ultimate end-bearing stress
• d= pile diameter
• Cb = factor depends on method of construction
and soil type

Settlement due to Friction load Qf
• Sps = (Cs Qf ) / (Lo * q)
• Cs = (0.93 + 0.16 ((Lo/d))
Total settlement of single pile:
So = Se + Spp + Sps
Lo = embedded length of pile
L = total length of pile
